September 2019 - Michele Frank Shuckel presents "Yankee Containers/Survival of the Fittest"

Michele Frank Schuckel presented “Yankee Containers/Survival of the Fittest”  Michele is a Certified Master Gardener who has consulted                 for the Esplanade Association for Horticultural Strategy. She has designed for Art in Bloom at the MFA, and is a Certified Home Compost Instructor through the Mass Dept.of Environmental Protection.  Michele focused her talk on developing beautiful containers using plants native to New England.  The indigenous plants were used to specifically to draw pollinating insects and birds, for seasonal weather tolerance, and to promote garden                             longevity.

Thank you to our head hostess, Claire Turck and her assistants for the delicious snacks.  Thank you to Patiie Lauretto for the buffet floral arrangement and to the members who brought in items for the horticulture exhibit.
