WGC ATTENDS CONCOURSE DEDICATION WITH A POLITE PRESENCE

Nine members of the Wollaston Garden Club's Conservation Committee attended the official dedication of the Walter Hannon Parkway on Sunday, October 2 in downtown Quincy to support protection of the Town Brook. Carrying the club's banner, the group spoke to many about the importance of protecting the brook and its ecosystem. The Wollaston Garden Club is concerned about storm water run off, road pollution and flooding in the brook's proposed site adjacent to the new four-lane "Parkway" at Mechanic Street.

Members of the Wollaston Garden Club and the Quincy Environmental Network have been advocating for the Town Brook since 2008, attending public meeting after public meeting, and most recently filing an Appeal with the MA DEP against the Quincy Conservation Committee's decision to approve the Re-Location of Town Brook.
