"Growing Clematis" at the March 20th Meeting

At the March evening meeting of the club, Cheryl Monroe, a master gardener, educator and specialist in clematis and garden design, offered a witty and informative program on clematis - a plant thant many have trouble growing.  Cheryl taught us the techniques for proper planting, cultivation and design tricks we could all use in our own gardens. Cheryl shared with us some "secrets" of growing these beautiful plants.

The hostess for the meeting was Lois Root and her committee of Anne Marie B, Marie Z, Krisanne G, and Jackie R who provided us all with wonderful refreshments. The buffet table spring arrangement in a lovely pottery vase was designed by Alison M. A social and business meeting precluded the speaker.

The garden club’s North Window Structures exhibit won a third place ribbon in the 2014 Boston Flower and Garden Show The exhibit’s steering committee of Pat A, Redecca D, Ruth G, Cynthia L and Carol F.were pleased with our lush, verdant and interesting exhibit of north window plants. Carol F received two commendations and Ruth G one commendation for their "culturally perfect" plants exhibited within the club's north window entry.
