Plant Sale 2013

Plant Sale Volunteers Pose Before the Sale

Thanks to All of Our Members and the Quincy Community For Another Great Plant Sale

Your co-chairs want to thank you all for all your efforts to make our annual plant sale a success. We were so fortunate to have such a perfect day for the sale. Everyone worked so hard in all the weeks prior to the sale and then for the big push the day before and the morning of the sale. We know there were many sore muscles and backs from all that hard lifting and carrying. This year the number of plants far exceeded previous years; we are proud of the time/skill our club gardeners take in producing nursery-like plant products for sale. It paid off in the amount of money, we took in for our many civic beautification projects, and in the wonderful plants that are now out there growing in other peoples' gardens, thanks to you!

We also want to acknowledge the representatives from the secondary schools of Quincy who came to the sale at noon to receive free plant materials for their school gardens and green houses. Each representative from Quincy HS, Broad Meadows MS, Central MS, & Sterling MS received plants and planting advice from a WGC gardener-mentor. The schools that have particpated over the past three years all have school yard gardens that they should be very proud of.

In gratitude: Jan, Ginny, Susan, and Marie
