WOLLASTON GARDEN CLUB: MONTHLY MEETING MINUTES

The meeting began at 12:00 PM; Presiding: Janet Clifford, President

A “Thank You” went to Donna Marston and her committee consisting of Virginia D., Jo C., Florence C., Anneli J., Anita F., Ellen K., and Janet L. for a wonderful buffet luncheon. A big thank you also went to Marie R. for the beautiful centerpiece and Mary C. for the festive seasonal table arrangements.

The treasurer’s report was not read by the club president due to Susan L’s recent hip replacement - she is back home and recovering well. Full details of Green Sale results will be available at the next monthly meeting.

A big THANK YOU went to everyone for coming together for the Greens Sale. No formal treasurer’s report is available but the amount of revenue taken in was reported. It was the most we have ever taken in.

Please send Jan C. your comments, ideas, suggestions for the future greens sales, as this is how we improve each year.

Raffle—apologies, but Cynthia’s wrist is not cooperating, and she still has not been able to do the birch frames, so we wil have the drawings, notify the winners, and try to come up with some other appropriate gift.

Master Gardener’s program is starting up. It is a big commitment. See Carol F., Rebecca D., or Cynthia L. if you want to hear more. Information is available and possible scholarship assistance is available also for those meeting club criteria in terms of membership and participation.

Some good news! We have been accepted this year for Art in Bloom.

Pat A. mentioned the workshop at Houghs Neck Community Center which will be held January 8, 2013. Full details will be sent out once the speaker is confirmed via e-mail.

Yankee Plant swap was held with 24 WGC members participating.

The meeting adjourned at 2:30 pm.
