Mary C. urged the members to look at the "Books in Bloom" design she prepared and asked members to choose a book and prepare a design for the next meeting.

Notes of interest:

Marathon Daffodils: this is a project being sponsored by the GCFM, Mass Hort, Master Gardeners, and Tower Hill. They are looking for donations to purchase daffodil bulbs that will be planted along the route of the Boston Marathon to commemorate the 2013 tragedy. The WGC made a donation of $100.00, and members of the WGC donated another $33.00. In October of 2013 there will be a planting session. All members will be informed if they want to help with this wonderful event.

The GCFM is doing a survey of all the garden clubs to determine if the Mayflower magazine should be made available on-line for free. This may happen in 2013-2014. Eighty-six of our members have e-mail.

The South Shore District is going to provide lists of the garden clubs who are having Greens Sales and Plant Sales. We will have this list available at our monthly club meetings.

Jan C. encouraged members to take advantage of the GCFM and Mass Hort courses. Information is in our annual yearbook and on the GCFM website.

Jan C. adjourned the business meeting and Anita Fasano, First Vice President and Program Chairperson introduced the program speaker, Tovah Martin, who will create terrariums for our members. Her terrariums are nationally known.

The meeting adjourned at 4:00 pm.

Respectfully submitted, Janet Lynch, Recording Secretary
